Goodbye BYU Hawaii, Hello...?

I write in my blog more often then it looks. I just forget my password sometimes. I also post things for assignments which I happily delete because my school life and my real life are too different beasts entirely. This is officially my last week as a student at BYU Hawaii. I graduate December 17th with my BA in Elementary Education. I'll be resuming my old job at Little Caesar and waiting a few months to get into a Master Degree program at ASU, where I hope to certify in just over a year and hopefully dual enroll in Special Ed, which is no longer offered at BYUH. Who wouldn't want to hire me then right? I'm blessed and I know it. I have met so many wonderful friends and found footing where many people would stumble. I have anxiety too though. I has two years of life planned and suddenly I have to plan it again. Also as homesick as I am I don't want to fall back into who I was before I went to college. The person I am at home is good, but I want to be the caterpillar that popped out of it's cacoon into something new and finished. At home I feel like there is so much more of my character that hasn't caught the color of butterfly wings just yet.
There is another item that concerns me about my future and it concerns someone else. He is so wonderful and he makes me so happy. And that's really all I can say right now. As I plan my future that statement keeps popping up in my vision, "He makes me happy." Like a variable I need to pay attention to. Heaven knows what that means. So wish me luck! I am very happy to go back to Arizona and see my brother back from his mission and have a long awaited Christmas with the whole Renfro family. It's going to be wonderful!

Last hurrah of the semester.

This week was awesome. We planned our holiday around homework so that we could do as much fun stuff as we could. I managed to finish creating a unit with all the fun included! Friday we went to the Temple to do baptisms and watched "The Lake House." That's all for Friday. Saturday we (Zach, Dave, Jenny, Tezlyn, Beth, Kaydee and I) hiked Diamondhead, which is an inactive volcanoe that was used as a bunkard for the troops during The Pearl Harbor attack. I took a picture next to the remains of the machine gun they used. The view was gorgeous. Then we had a picnic in the crater of it where a cardinal sent me it's poopy blessings. Afterward we showered and met up to eat at Luibuenos, a place where they specialize in fish tacos. I got a bite of a swordfish taco. It was pretty good accept that my breath tasted like onions all night. We had mochi for dessert. This is a ball of icecream wrapped in flavored rice dough. It's become a favorite of mine. We then toured the town for art galleries and stumbled on an openhouse for a photographer who specialized in photographing waves. No photoshop is used; the colors and formations are breathtaking. We got a picture with the artist and I got his autograph. His name is Clark Little. I encourage people to look up his work. It's gorgeous. We came home and crashed. I felt great because I got a taste of all things good with good company without losing the spirit. That is what fun should be like. :)

BYU Hawaii

There is so much to sayabout Hawaii. First of all the flight from Arizona took 6 hours. When I first got off I felt like there was too much waster and not enough breathable stuff in the air. I stayed with my cousins, the Kimballs for the dirst 2 days before I was to move to my dorm at BYU. They were so nice to me. The older girls especially, who rarely had cousins who could aford to visit. I could understand. Where I am at the Kimball's house, the campus, and the temple are just a little walk away. Cool as this is I now walk constantly. The room I finally ended upo staying in is a nice hotel room compaired to the other dorms: 2 beds, desk, fridge, nice wooden closet (most people get locker looking stuff), drawers, and a hug wall ready for decor. Kaydee mace is my roomate from Texas and we get along awesome. I have so many friends hear already I don't even have room in my brain for that many names so quick. A lot of them are boys too. Most of them are pre-mission, but I have never had any guy friends before. Besides Michael of course, who comes home in about 8 months!!! Where was I...
I visited the PCC. No job opportunities for white girls, but it was really cool to see the canoo carnival and coconut peelers! I tried peeling a coconut by myself afterward. It took him 5 seconds with a little stick. I used the Kimball's pick axe and got nowhere. Chickens run wild in Laie, Hawaii. Every morning at 7 beautiful roosters harold the suns rays and wake up all the poor sleeping college kids who partied so hard they forgot to brush their teeth before they crashed in bed. I went to Sunset Beach the other day and rediscovered my fear of sharks. Of which none appeared. More recently I went to the mall with some friends, on bus that made me feel so very motionsick for the entire hour. When we got there we took pictures by this wierd blue stop sign and basically had a culture night with Chinese soda you break open with a marble, authentic sushi, and Japanese icecream treats called mochi. I just didn't like the one rolled in fresh tuna. Everything else was yummy. We ended up being the last ones out because the Kaneohe mall closes at 9. Haha! So far my classes are a cinch and I wish I had signed up for more. Every class begin with a prayer and teaches gospel principles along witht the subject matter. It just makes sense that way. We had Elder Bednar visit the campus 2 days ago. He spoke on being Truly Converted. I drank it all in. This experience at BYU has been amazing so far. I can't wait to see what comes next. If you get the opportunity to come here take it!

Hot N Ready!

So I finally got a job at Little Caesars (Southern and Mesa Dr.)! Let me tall ya though it is alot of work. Let me take this time to also assure my firends that i am just as absent minded at work as I am anywhere else. I am not good at alot beside just making the pizzas. This is not such a good thing either since pizza is the only thing around that a person can eat when they get really hungry. This is not good after a day at the gym when my trainer gives me the lowdown on what not to eat. Pizza is definitely what not to eat. Don't get me wrong though, if i really need something to keep me from passing out i don't feel bad about grabbing a breadstick or two, but I don't want to make it a habit. So i have to suck in my gut and hope that Mom saved me something healthy for dinner. The cash register is an instrument of torture to me. I practically have a panica attac the moment someone walks up to the counter with their order. I'll get the hang of it eventually. Ugh, but i never get to sit down. Five hours of bending over things, running, and standing still. With this you can understand the wonderful feeling of finally climbing in the car and just listening to music while my back and feet finally get a break! It's not so bad. I'm getting a paycheck. That makes everything better.

Where to find me

I am sorry I have taken soooo long to start bloging, but here I am at last doing it. For all those who do not know me just go talk to my three best friends: Hannah, Candace, and Megan. They can tell you so many stories. Let me tell ya! Ofcourse it may be difficult to catch any of them alone to ask. We are always doing (or trying) to do SOMETHING together. Lately we just went out, bought some chocolate and sparkling cider, and just sat on Hannah's porch. It was so fun. One of these days we have to do something at my house, but Hannah's place seems to be our typical hangout. So I guess the Amber Alert is over. If I am ever missing I am probably at Hannah's place.
